There is great potential for libraries to tap into these services. I listened to the demo from Overdrive and can see how we could use this in our library service as a compliment to the Gulliver databases and Tumblebooks (ebooks for children) I'm sure that it would be cost effective and a great service to our patrons. Also - the items would never become damaged, lost or even overdue! Many of the books which I looked at came in various languages too.
This is definitely an area we should become involved with.
